**1. Prepare the chicken:**
Cut chicken into even strips. In a bowl, mix buttermilk, salt, garlic powder, pepper, and paprika. Add chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for maximum flavor).
**2. Set up your breading station:**
* Bowl 1: Flour
* Bowl 2: Beaten eggs
* Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes
**3. Bread the chicken strips:**
Remove chicken from marinade. Dredge each strip in flour, dip in egg, then coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs. Press to ensure crumbs stick well.
**4. Cook the chicken:**
* **To fry:** Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry strips 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
* **To bake:** Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Place strips on a wire rack over a baking sheet. Lightly spray with oil. Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden.
* **To air fry:** Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Spray chicken with oil and cook in batches for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
