Origin & Traditional Use
This remedy originates in Central and South American cultures, where every part of the avocado is valued for its health properties. The seed, especially, is known for its bitterness and astringency, thought to detox the liver and kidneys and help with inflammation.
Ingredients
1 avocado seed (washed and clean)
3 cups filtered water
1 small stick of cinnamon (optional – for flavor)
1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional – for anti-inflammatory boost)
1 tsp honey or lemon juice (optional – for taste)
Optional Ingredients
Mint leaves – for cooling effect
Turmeric powder – adds additional anti-inflammatory benefit
Green tea leaves – enhances detox effect
Instructions
Clean the Seed:
Remove the seed from a ripe avocado.
Rinse it under water to remove any residue.
Let it dry for a few hours or overnight.
Slice or Grate:
Using a sharp knife (be careful—it’s tough!), cut the seed into smaller pieces, or grate it.
You can also roast it in the oven at 120°C (250°F) for 1–2 hours to make it easier to grind.
Boil:
Add the seed pieces to a pot with 3 cups of water.
