Cheese-Crusted Fries: The Ultimate Crispy, Cheesy Comfort Food!

Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Cheese Crust:

1 ½ cups shredded cheese (a mix of mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan works great!)

2 tablespoons cornstarch or all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon onion powder

Optional: chopped parsley, ranch, or spicy mayo for dipping

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Potatoes
If using fresh potatoes: Scrub, peel (if desired), and cut into ½-inch thick fries. Soak in cold water for 20 minutes, then pat completely dry.

If using frozen fries: Let them thaw slightly for easier coating.

Step 2: Season and Pre-Cook
Toss fries with oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Air Fryer Method: Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes, shaking halfway.
Oven Method: Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.

Fries should be cooked but not fully crispy—they’ll finish with the cheese!

Step 3: Create the Cheese Crust
