One of the main causes of problems in marriage is codependency. The wives of alcoholics, gamblers, and other “good-for-nothing” men often appear neglected and unkempt because they devote all their energy to “saving” their husbands. These women often forget about themselves, their lives becoming a struggle with endless problems, leading to a loss of identity and personal interests.
Enmeshment
Another problem is fusion. This most often occurs in families where you have to care for a child or a sick parent. In such cases, a woman forgets her own needs and devotes herself entirely to caring for another. A temporary fusion can be noble, but when it drags on for years, it becomes a burden that leads to burnout.
